GUINEA PIG AND RABBIT GROOMS

Long-haired rabbits and guinea pigs have similar grooming requirements to long-haired cats and benefit from regular grooming.

STANDARD GROOM

Rabbits and guineas with fine fur are prone to matting and as such benefit from regular grooming to prevent larger mats and tangles, which can be uncomfortable or even painful for your pet. They may also need a trim of longer fur to remain clean and fresh. This groom includes:
  •  Thorough brush and detangle
  •  Demat smaller masses
  •  Trim and style
  •  Coat conditioner for a smooth finish and easy brushing at home
Ideal for: All long-haired breeds including Abyssinian, Peruvian, Silky, etc.

PARTIAL SERVICES

Guineas and rabbits may not always require a standard groom. Instead, you can choose to have standalone treatments from those listed below, or add them to your pet’s groom.
Facial fur can become stained through buildup of dirt and debris around from the nose or eyes, and we can clean them up with this add-on to a standard groom or as a standalone treatment. We use cotton wool and water to gently wipe away stains on their fur, leaving your pet looking fresh and clean. Ears are treated in the same way, to ensure they remain clean and healthy.
Rabbits and guineas need help to keep their nails short, and we can quickly and gently trim them down with no discomfort or stress to your pet. Available as an add-on to a standard groom or while-you-wait as a standalone treatment.
Ensuring that minor mats and tangles are brushed out is an important part of a groom because, aesthetics aside, allowing mats to build up provides a great hiding spot for parasites and can cause soreness and skin complaints in your pet. We try to brush out mats where possible but this is sometimes not sufficient to remove larger masses and it must be clipped away instead, especially where mats are close to the skin. Our gentle handling and calming environment enables us to demat animals brought to us without sedation and we receive frequent referrals from veterinary practices for this service.
